Cambodia, Thailand agreed to redeploy troops

PHNOM PENH: After the meeting between Samdech Techo Hun Sen, Prime Minister of the Kingdom of Cambodia and Lok Chumteav Yingluck Shinawatra, Prime Minister of the Kingdom of Thailand, on July 13, 2012 at Siem Reap city, both parties have willingly agreed to redeploy military.
The Royal Government of Cambodia has decided to redeploy 485 personal of Cambodian armed forces from Provisional Demilitarized Zone (PDZ) in compliance with Order of International Court of Justice (ICJ) dated on 18 July 2011. The ceremony of redeployment will be taking place on 18 July 2012 at Peace-commandment 5 Makara-Preah Vihear, the statement from government said.
“This is the first step of redeployment armed group from the arena around Preah Vihear temple which are Dragon Stair market, North Ancient Stair, East Ancient Stair, and Keo Sikha Kiri Svarak pagoda and the said number of troop redeployment will be replaced by 255 policemen and 100 guards for safeguarding the Temple-Conservation.” It adds.
Cambodia will also be holding at the same time and same place. The celebration of 4th anniversary of registration of Preah Vihear temple as World Heritage, 2008-2012. ( SEA WEEKLY)
