PHNOM PENH: current president of executive directors of FUNCINPEC party, Mr. Nhiek Bun Chay on Thursday blamed his former boss, Prince Norodom Ranariddh, who plans to take Khmer Rouge forces into the coalition government, which was led by Prince and Prime Minister Hun Sen. and it was a main problem that was created the event of July 5-6, 1997 in fractional fighting in Phnom Penh.
“Prince had not provided any report about the Khmer Rouge forces to co-prime minister Hun Sen,” Nhiek Bun Chhay told media in a press conference. Bringing Khmer Rouge forces into the government had made coalition government have no confidence,” Mr Nhiek Bun Chhay said, adding that that was made the event on July 5-6 in Phnom Penh. the troops from two sides fought each other in capital of Phnom Penh and left hundreds of people to leave home and some died. Bun Chhay said that his 41soldiers who had escaped with him at that time were killed and only one could survive. Nhiek Bunchhay now is deputy prime minister in co-ruling government led by prime minister Hun Sen.
